Psalm 1 & the Way
Psalms 1 describes the faithful servant as one who “is like a tree planted by streams of water” and the author warns against standing in the “way” of sinners but rather seek the “Way” of the righteous.
Maybe the “Way” isn’t always a path we walk or a direction to chase, but a place we choose to invest in and drop roots by. When we sit in the way of sinners, we become laid bare and vulnerable to sin. When we sit by the streams of living water, the Way of righteousness, our roots go deep into fertile ground and produce fruits of the spirit.
How can we stop chasing righteousness and choose to sit in God’s ever-present stream of living water, and receive what we need and stop thinking we can achieve it? I think more and more faith is less of a destination and more of a presence we get distracted from too easily.
My prayer for all of us today is that the Spirit draws us into the act of dropping roots here and now in the already available streams of living water. Sit with God, delight in the Son, and meditate on Jesus’ presence available to us right now!

I like how you draw conclusions of a literal imagery to a literal tree rooting itself in the sustenance water of life (that Is Christ). I beleive the implications of this passage point to being indulged deeply in the word of God, deeply in prayer/fellowship (equally yoked).
